This is just a (really) quick list of a handful of some things I've worked on. Got a question? An idea? Contact me: samyaksahu2018 [at] gmail [dot] com

What I'm upto these days?

Product @ Atlassian

I'm currently working as an APM at Atlassian in the Commerce team. We're building a new Commerce engine from the ground up and migrating data from the old to the new billing engines. For 300k+ customers clocking nearly $4.5 Bn in revenue!

I'm mainly involved in building a console for our customer support staff so that they can manage customer subscriptions on their behalf, create quotes and address other such billing issues.

I was able to ship/support release of 25+ features over the course of 1.5 years. One feature that I worked on reduced the time to task for advocates from 30+ minutes to less than 3 minutes on average!

One interesting area I looked into was the use of AI tooling to improve our customer support experience. I got to talk to the lot of advocates, fellow PMs from the AI team, align everyone on the team on a vision for how AI-first customer support tooling could look like and actually ship products.

We built an AI agent that runs on Atlassian Intelligence, which helps consolidate information from otherwise isolated data sources (i.e. subscription and billing info, support tickets, technical documentation, sales opportunities)

A flavour of this agent was demoed in Team ‘24 (Atlassian’s bi-annual event) by the President and received a roaring round of applause in Barcelona. Pretty flattering!

Before this rotation, I briefly worked on the platform side, where I wrote early requirements for the foundational quoting journeys on our new billing engine. I also worked on a service that unlocked a ton of Free to Trial conversions, unlocking nearly $20 Mn ARR.

Volunteer @ People+ai

People+ai is a think tank building AI-powered DPIs that scale for India-specific use cases. The think tank is being led by the same people who have led other IndiaStack projects, such as UPI, Aadhar, ONDC, DigiLocker, etc.

Recently I’ve been involved in this project called ‘City AI’, which aims to bring in an element data-driven decision-making in municipal corporations. Imagine posting a complaint to the city authorities and getting it resolved in a few days/weeks!

Past experiences

I worked as an APM intern in:

I also worked as an Account Management intern at InMobi, where I got to learn how supply and demand side of the AdTech industry work. I did a lot of number crunching over Excel, reporting run rates and optimizing campaigns as per clients’ budgets.

I got the chance to work at the IT department of the Government of West Bengal as a Frontend Developer where I was responsible for improving the UX of their portal alongwith three other engineers.

Something I’m really proud of working on was Team Robocon, BITS Pilani. I started off working as an engineer in the Electronics and Computation subsystem, but later transitioned to become the Head of Sponsorship.

I led the fundraising and publicity initiatives from the ground up, being tasked to sell a vision. I had no experience on this front whatsoever; just the autonomy to build a team and devise my own ways of working.

By the end of my tenure, we were able to substantially increase our social media following, build a new website, improve ways of working and raise sponsorships of ₹25 Lakh (USD 6000) + grants from Dassault Systèmes, ANSYS and BITSAA**.**

This kept our team afloat in hard Covid times and allowed to ship MVPs of our quadruped and autonomous quadcopter.
